Adventure Activity Days

Activity Days with BECKs Training can incorporate a huge variety of challenges. First of all the minimum requirements for a group booking:

  • Minimum size of the group: 8 people
  • Location: any of our venues in the North of Engalnd
  • Time Frame: full or half days available
We can provide transport for you or you can arrive in your own cars at the venue of your choice.

We are fully insured, licensed and qualified to run a range of outdoor activity and team challenges. (Health and Safety)
Our outdoor activities can be combined (usually two activities in a day) and our challenges are multi-activity packages that incorporate a number of tasks. This can be set out as a competition or the whole day can have a treasure hunt theme.
Finally, the food: you can come equipped with packed lunches and drinks or we can provide the “full monty” from bacon butties and coffee on arrival to lunch and a BBQ at the end of the day. The third option is to stop in a pub or cafe for lunch between activities.

The activities

Below you will find a selection of our most popular activities for private groups – such as birthday celebrations, stag and hen challenge days or other private adventure days. We do offer alternative activities, so please ask, if you can’t see what you are looking for.

Please note that the prices below are guidelines only and will vary depending on the season, group size, number of activities you book and availability of instructors. Just contact us for a full quote.

Our high ropes activities are all on site at Deneholme and currently consist of a high tree platform abseil and a tree climb. Under construction are three more elements: a Jacob’s Ladder, Leap of Faith and a Cat Walk. (updated 20/03/2014)

Canoeing is available at Sweethope Loughs and Hexham Tyne Green for placid water sessions and we tend to use the Tyne or Tweed for river journeys. We can set up a canoeing treasure hunt or organise overnight canoeing expeditions for you.

Rock climbing and abseiling can be done on Hadrian’s Wall (Peel Crag and Crag Lough) or at Sweethope (Great Wanney Crag). We have also run a lot of sessions at Corby Crags near Alnwick. You will also learn about rope work and belaying.

Archery Competitions are very popular and great to combine with water based activities at Sweethope or high ropes activities at Deneholme. Archery is an ancient skill and a fantastic one to learn and master today. You will see great improvements in your shoot very swiftly!

Each team will be given large poles, barrels and ropes – and a time limit! You task is to build a craft, sturdy enough to transport you around the course without getting – well – wet! This is a competitive, fun session with a bottle of champagne waiting for the winning team!

Waterfall jumping, sliding to water shoots, swimming through pools and all kitted out in wet suits, buoyancy aids & helmets is what we do at our ghyll scrambling sessions at Ashgill near Garagill/Alston. Come to Deneholme first and we take off together for a session of water and fun – there is a footpath alternative to each jump.

We can customise our orienteering and treasure hunt challenges to fit your group – be it a children’s pirate theme, a hen activity or family treasure mystery. Contact us with details of many people would take part, the time frame and nature of the group and we will come back with a hunt to remember!

Our bike sessions can take place around Allendale in the North Pennines, Are of Oustanding natural Beauty – or we can take you on man made trails in Hamsterley Forest or indeed travel to the lakes and take in the views across fell tops there. Our rides can cater for all abilities.
